Meet Jennifer
Jennifer Barconi is running for state representative in the 49th House District. Jennifer is an Air Force veteran, Director of Sales for HyperActive Technologies and owner of a small business specializing in environmentally-friendly products and technologies for companies that aim to be fiscally-responsible and environmentally-friendly.
Jennifer grew up in St. Charles, attending St. Charles East High School and Elgin Community College (ECC). Her parents, Richard and Debbie, still reside in St. Charles today. Her sisters, Deanna and Rebecca, also still live in the area. After two years at ECC, Jennifer went on to serve our country by joining the Air Force as flight medic/search and rescue. Stationed in Minot North Dakota she served during Desert Storm. She was a Senior Airman, receiving multiple letters of commendation, including one for Leadership Capabilities. Jennifer believes that Illinois needs to ensure all military members have access to the best physical and mental health care available when they return from serving overseas. She will also push for more support for families that are struggling financially while a family member is deployed away from home.
Jennifer has been involved with the National Physique Committee where her belief in health, nutrition, and a balanced life lead to personal and professional effectiveness.
Jennifer currently lives in South Elgin with her husband Todd, who works at Elgin Beverage. They have two daughters, Madeline and Brianna, who attend South Elgin High School and Clinton Elementary school. Jennifer is active with several organizations to help fund and support local schools. She serves on the South Elgin High School Boosters Club, Dance Team Fundraiser Committee and Clinton Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization.
Jennifer has one son, James. She had him when she was 16-years-old and made the tough choice to give him up for adoption. James is now 19-years-old, having reunited with his mother a couple of years ago. Learning from her experience, Jennifer now counsels other women who face the same decision and their options at Sunny Ridge Family Center.
Jennifer is active in many community organizations. Her work with environmentally-friendly technologies has enabled her to work with the Elgin Climate Change Organization. She is also involved in business groups, including the Alliance for Women in Management, Women in Management, League of Women Voters and the Illinois Restaurant Association. Jennifer’s record of service to the country and the community make her a great choice for state representative. Jennifer wants to bring her experiences as a mother, veteran, Director of Sales, business owner and community leader to change business-as-usual in Springfield. Please vote for Jennifer Barconi on November 2, 2010.
